Rota Concerto!

I’m extremely proud and excited to say that on September 23, 2023 I’ll be performing a concerto with maestro Toshiyuki Kamioka and my orchestra, Copenhagen Phil. The 2018 composition Ós by Icelandic composer Bára Gísladóttir and Mahler’s Titan Symphony will also be on the program.

Nino Rota’s Trombone Concerto is a wonderfully fun and lyrical piece that I think shows off the musical abilities of the trombone. As Rota was also Curtis graduate, it’s a little bit of a heart-warming moment for me.

Now if only Barber, Menotti, or Bernstein’s trombone concertos could be posthumously dug up from the ashes, Rota’s exciting composition would be in good company!
